The Hornets are still thinking of Russell Westbrook…

After Marc Stein in April, it’s The Ringer’s turn to discuss the possible arrival of Russell Westbrook to the Hornets. As Mike D’Antoni has a good chance of being the next coach, it is not certain that the two want to meet again, but our colleagues report that Michael Jordan would have in mind to get rid of cumbersome contracts, and for that, he would be willing to get Russell Westbrook back who is in his final year of contract.

Since Monday, the names of Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier have been circulating in transfer rumors, and both could join the Lakers in exchange for Westbrook. In April, Marc Stein rather evoked Kelly Oubre Jr as one of the bargaining chips. On paper, the Lakers would balance their squad, and Gordon Hayward, if he doesn’t spend too much time in the infirmary, could be ideal as a lieutenant for LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Contract level, he must touch 60 million dollars by 2024, and that can curb the enthusiasm of the Lakers.

On the Charlotte side, it’s hard to see how Russell Westbrook and LaMelo Ball could live together since they both need the ball to exist, and neither is a shooter, but Michael Jordan would be a big fan of Russell Westbrook. Even in terms of “business” since the MVP 2017 is one of the ambassadors of Jordan Brand.
