Seven days of finals, fourteen games, eight regional titles awarded and three hundred young basketball players, coaches and managers involved. The Final Days of youth basketball by the Fip Puglia committee ended in Bari, with the rediscovered magic of a single competition venue for all the finals not yet played.
Beyond the numbers, an announced success for the approval of clubs and athletes who alternated at the University Sports Center on the Starita seafront. Apulian champions graduated in the event of the capital, Cus Bari in under 19, Basket Fasano in under 17, Olimpia Gioia in under 16 and under 15, Junior Bisceglie in under 14, Nuova Matteotti Corato in under 13 male, and for the women’s championships Pink Bari in under 14 and Support_o Taranto in under 13. Then there are the Silver stages won by Fortitudo Trani, Kaelya Basket, Sporting Club Bitonto, Virtus Brindisi, Webbin Angel Manfredonia and Murgia Santeramo in the various categories from under 19 to under 13 .
Cups in the sky only for those who have won, but all very satisfied for having faced each other in an intense week of competitions: «The return of the Final Days – explains Fip Puglia president Francesco Damiani – has made everyone happy, winners and losers. It seemed only right to conclude in this way what was a season of complete restart, after the stop and the difficulties related to the most acute phase of the pandemic ».
The sporting year is running out but federal activity does not stop, given that the 3×3 regional qualifiers are looming, which in Puglia will take place in July, in Molfetta. We start with the women’s tournaments under 18, 16 and 14 already next Sunday 3 July to continue with the men’s competitions of the same categories, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17: “There are still a few days to register – Damiani remembers – We would like there were more participations possible, because Puglia has shown that it immediately believes in an engaging discipline that allows us to keep the desire for basketball high ».
