The Andalusian Badminton Federation is concentrated in Montilla this weekend

The Andalusian Badminton Federation once again trusts Montilla and its sports facilities to prepare for the U15 and U21 National Badminton Championships, which will be held from next Thursday to Santander on Sunday.

The mayor of Montilla, Rafael Llamas, who has been greeting the Andalusian team, together with the Sports delegate, has highlighted that “hosting a concentration of an Andalusian team is a reflection of the commitment of the Sports Service and the Montilla Badminton Club for this sport” and stressed that these sports gatherings are “a boost not only for badminton in the town but also for our hotels and restaurants that benefit from the impact of these sports events in Montilla”.

The coach of both teams, Gustavo López, has pointed out that Andalusia continues to be a reference in national badminton and that the objective of the next championship that will be played in the facilities known as La Ballena, together with Sardinero, will be to “try to repeat the podium” as on other occasions, with these two categories in which 4 boys and 4 girls participate in each of them, while “making history in this sport in Andalusia” continues.

He also wanted to thank the support provided by the Sports Service and the great badminton atmosphere that exists in Montilla, thanks to the local Badminton Club, which has a lot of weight in Andalusia, to the point that “most of those selected have already I’ve been here several times.”
