Synchronized swimmers De Brouwer and Steenbeek again eighth at World Cup | NOW

Synchronized swimmers Bregje de Brouwer and Marloes Steenbeek also finished eighth in the final of the free exercise at the World Championships in Budapest. The Dutch duet achieved a score of 87.4667.

In total, 12 of the 33 participating duets made it to the final battle. The Chinese twin sisters Wang Liuyi and Qianyi took the gold (95.5667), followed by the Ukrainian twins Maryna and Vladyslava Aleksiiva (94.1667) and the Austrian twins Anna-Maria and Eirini-Marina Alexandri (92.8000).

The 23-year-old De Brouwer and the 17-year-old Steenbeek already reached the final of the technical performance, in which they also finished eighth.

In recent years, De Brouwer formed a duo with her twin sister Noortje, but she is no longer in action this season due to a shoulder injury. Last year, the Dutch sisters participated in the Tokyo Olympics, where they reached the final and finished in ninth place.

Last month, De Brouwer and Steenbeek took silver in their first international performance as a duet at the World Series final in Athens.
