Sports Writing (USA), Jun 19 (EFE).- Jack Suwinski sent three balls out of the park this Sunday, while the Dominican Jerar Encarnación debuted in style shooting a grand slam in his first hit in the Major Leagues and Lourde Gurriel and Buddy Kennedy also hit four-run homers.
PIRATES 4-3 GIANTS
Rookie outfielder Jack Suwinski hit three solo homers, including driving in the game-winning run in the ninth as the Pittsburgh Pirates fielded the San Francisco Giants.
Suwinski hit starter Alex Cobb with his first full-round stick in the fourth, then hit Sam Long in the sixth and Tyler Rogers (0-3) in the ninth.
Venezuelan Thairo Estrada deposited the ball in the stands for the Giants.

Lourde Gurriel hit a grand slam and Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run homer as the Toronto Blue Jays came from behind and beat the New York Yankees, thus avoiding being swept in their weekend series. .
Dominican Vladimir Guerrero also hit a home run and added two produced for the cause of the Blue Jays.
Dominican Luis Severino started for the Yankees and went out without a decision, after giving up five runs in five innings of nine strikeouts.

DIAMONDBACKS 7-1 MELLIZOS
Buddy Kennedy hit a grand slam and Christian Walker hit two full-round clubs as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Minnesota Twins.
Merrill Kelly (6-4) stopped the Twins’ offense in one run for seven innings, striking out five for the win over Arizona.
Luis Arráez scored the Twins’ only run in the game.
NATIONALS 9-3 PHILLIES
Juan Soto hit a three-run homer and his countryman Maikel Franco also hit the ball behind the fence and drove in three runs as the Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies.
Luis García scored three times and Cuban Yadiel Hernández stepped on the plate twice and drove in one for the Nationals.
Odubel Herrera scored a return for the Phillies.
RED SOX 6-4 CARDINALS
Puerto Rican catcher Christian Vázquez homered, scored twice and drove in three runs as the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals.
Alex Verdugo scored two runs to support right-hander Nick Pivetta (7-5) who pitched seven one-run innings and struck out 10 batters to go out the front door for the Red Sox.
Juan Yepez had a three-run shot for the Cardinals.
REDS 3-6 BREWERS
Puerto Rican Victor Carantini sent the ball over the fence and drove in two laps for the Milwaukee Brewers to get past the Cincinnati Reds.
Hunter Renfroe hit a two-run homer and Mexico’s Luis Urías scored and drove in a run for the winners.
Albert Almora Jr. drove in two runs for the Reds.
ROCKIES 8-3 PADRES
Pitcher Antonio Senzatela (3-3) threw one-run ball and struck out three in six innings as the Colorado Rockies won all three games against the San Diego Padres over the weekend.
Venezuelan Elías Diaz hit the ball over the wall and drove in three runs for the Rockies.
The Padres lost star third baseman Manny Machado, who left the game after spraining his left ankle in the first inning.
Austin Nola and Luke Voit each homered for the Padres.
