Successful participation of volantistas from Soria

The first part of the 2022 season is coming to an end, despite which competitions are still being held in which players from Club Badminton Soria-CS24 and AD89 are participating.





This past weekend, there was participation of the youngest members of the Soria club in two competitions in Extremadura and the Basque Country while the seniors had their appointments in Guadarrama and Gijón.

In Saint Sebastian, organized by the Basque Federation, a test was played with the presence of sub13 players, Aaron Barrera and Iker Gonzalez.

The participation could not have been more successful since Aarón won the gold in individual while Iker had to settle for silver.

Another part of the Soria quarry went to the Extremaduran town of Villanueva de la Vera where they would also get medals.

Daniel Marín would get, on the one hand, the silver medal in double with Alvaro Gómez and the bronze medal in individual, both in the sub13 category. He would complete the good results of the Soriana expedition, the bronze achieved by Carmen Gómez in the sub15 women’s individual modality.

The seniors of the Soria club participated in the third test of those organized by the Madrid Federation and whose development took place in Guadarrama.

As happened in the previous Madrid tournament, Jose Carlos Perez He emerged as one of the most outstanding players, counting his twelve matches as victories, obtaining the victory in the individual, men’s double together with Madrid’s Fernando Herrero and the mixed double partnering with Begoña Duque of the Leganés Badminton Club.

In the same competition his teammate, Santiago Martinez She also won the individual modality of her category and the bronze medal in the mixed double with the also player of the Leganés Badminton Club, Beatriz Martín.

The last competition for players from Soria was faced by Sergio Latorre and Cristina Puebla from Burgos, who traveled to Gijón to play the cider tournament. Both specialists in doubles, did not miss the opportunity to achieve victory in the mixed doubles.

Cristina would also win gold in the women’s double with the Basque Esther Segarra, while Sergio would win the runner-up position in the men’s double teaming with Miguel Angel Ruiz, from Torrelavega.
