The La Rasa de Berbes Golf Course hosted last Saturday the first edition of the Ribadesella City Council PRO-AM Trophy, a competition in which fifteen teams made up of one professional and three amateurs competed. In other words, 15 PRO and 45 AM participated in the tournament.
The final victory went to the team from the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina de Marbella, led by Haiko Dana, a professional golfer who starred in the great anecdote of the tournament. He was the author of a coup never seen in this field or in many others. He got an ‘albatross’, put the ball with a single stroke in a Par 4 hole, 333 meters.
Haiko Dana received the award from the Mayor of Ribadesella, Ramón Canal, (photo above) and inscribed his name in gold letters on the winners’ list of the La Rasa Goal Field. Everything points to the fact that the wind that was blowing that Saturday helped lift the ball and move it to the Green. Still, it then has to go into a 108mm diameter hole. Quite a feat.
