The Miles for Health event, with different activities, brought together nearly 300 participants this Sunday in the center of Irun

At the Salto Systems Miles for Health event, all groups have their space. And it was very clear this Sunday in Irun, where around 300 participants and a good number of onlookers on the sidewalks gathered in a day in which sport was the protagonist. “At the last minute the subject has been moved, but this summer date has harmed us,” admitted Iñigo Eseverri, organizer.

After the healthy ride ttipi-ttapa, came the 4×1 mile team relay, in which the ‘BAT Masters’ (Madejón, Tapia, Gómez and García) were the fastest with a time of 19:48. This was the winning male quartet. The fastest women’s group was the ‘blue BAT’ (Casado, Erro, Bauza and López), with a finish time of 25:07. In the mixed category, the award went to ‘Los Muyayos’ (Fernández, Beldarrain, Sánchez and Beltrán) with 28:09. After and just before the half mile for the intellectually disabled, came the mile for the physically disabled, in which Javi Jaén (handbike) was the winner (5:15).

Kortazar wins again

The Camille Extreme returned this Sunday after two years of absence with a clear victory for Oihana Kortazar. The athlete from Elgeta completed the circuit of 31.6km of distance and 2044 meters of positive elevation gain in a time of 3h29:58, beating her own record from 2012, in 5:38. The Navarrese runner Xabier Zarranz was the fastest with a time of 3:12:30.
