Spanish international Dani Olmo held up in the street in Valencia

Spanish international Dani Olmo (24 caps, 4 goals) was the victim of an assault while walking down a street in Valencia. According to the Valencian daily Las Provincias, which reports his misadventure in its June 20 edition, the Iberian international was leaving a hairdressing salon on Friday June 17 when an individual – who had apparently followed him – is thrown at him to steal his Rolex brand watch worth 30,000 euros. The perpetrator then fled towards a car waiting for him to leave at full speed.

At the time of the events, Olmo was accompanied by his brother who chased the thief, without managing to recover the watch. He was even injured in the altercation by being dragged a few meters by the fleeing vehicle before being taken care of by an ambulance.

Trained at FC Barcelona, Olmo has been playing at RB Leipzig since January 2020 after an adventure in Croatia at Dinamo Zagreb, which he joined at 19 (2014-2020). He comes out of a season marred by injuries (he missed 14 games in the Bundesliga and four in the Champions League) but still participated in the conquest of the title in the German Cup. He is linked with the German club until 2024.

These absences did not affect his place in the Spanish selection since he participated in the last four games in the League of Nations of Spain in June.
