Lhe women’s 3×3 basketball team got off to a good start in the category’s World Cup held in Antwerp (Belgium). The Spanish Aitana Cuevas, Sandra Ygueravide, Marta Canella and Vega Gimeno comfortably won their first two matches defeating the Netherlands 22-9 and Chile 21-15.
The Spanish team, which starts as the fourth seed, will not play again until this Thursday when they face Canada (6:00 pm), which has also won its first two games, and Israel (8:10 pm).
If the team led by Nuria Martínez, who debuts as a 3×3 coach in a major tournament, ends up as group leader, they will go directly to the quarterfinals, while if they are second or third, they will have to face a preliminary phase of the round of 16.
