Smith takes hold at one, Holmgren at two and Banchero at three

In recent seasons, the night of the draft has been followed in advance on Adrian Wojnarowski’s Twitter account. This year doesn’t look like it’s going to be any different and with about ten hours to go before Adam Silver takes the stand, the journalist from ESPN already warm up engines. With all the meetings and preparatory meetings finalized, the leaks suggest that the order of the podium will respect the one that has been rumored for weeks. If so, Jabari Smith would end up in Orlando with the first pick, Chet Holmgren in Oklahoma with the second and Paolo Banchero in Houston with the third. Order and destinations increasingly entrenched by what Wojnarowski tells.

For months now, these three have been the immovable candidates to occupy the first three positions in the 2022 draft. And although Holmgren started out in the lead, Jabari Smith has ended up ahead of him in most predictions. Paolo Banchero has been the third in discord, despite the fact that the last few hours threatened to change the the status quo. Since last night, the power forward from Duke has been placed as the favorite in the main American bookmakers to be number one. Something that finally does not look like it will be translated into reality, with Banchero remaining third in the projections of the main specialists and inner circles of the league.
