Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will play with Canada

From Monday, the Canadian federation brings together the selection that will participate in the international window for qualifying for the 2023 World Cup. Among the 16 players, four NBAers: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (Jazz) , Dwight Powell (Dallas) and Kelly Olynyk (Detroit).

RJ Barrett (New York), Oshae Brissett (Indiana), Khem Birch (Toronto), Luguentz Dort (Oklahoma City), Jamal Murray (Denver) and Kevin Pangos (CSKA Moscow) will be in camp, but they will not play. Two notable absentees: Andrew Wiggins, just NBA champion, and Chris Boucher, free agent.

On July 1, Canada takes on the Dominican Republic in Hamilton, then travel to the Virgin Islands on July 4. With four wins in four matches, Canada has already validated its ticket to the second phase.
