Schalke’s agonizingly long search for a coach is apparently over!
According to information from BILD and SPORT BILD, the newly promoted Bundesliga team surprisingly brings Frank Kramer (50). Born in Memminger, he was a coach at Arminia Bielefeld until April, where he was fired after seven games in a row without a win.
He is to be officially presented in the Veltins Arena tomorrow, Tuesday. That’s what you can hear from people around Arminia.
Why did Schalke choose Kramer? He stands for hard worker football, lets his teams play with extremely intensive running. Last season, Arminia was the best-running team in the Bundesliga under him.
Sports director Rouven Schröder (46) and Kramer know and appreciate each other from their time together in Fürth (2013/2014).
Kramer should be a cost-effective solution for this. An important criterion for Schalke, because the clammy club has to continue to pay ex-coach Dimitrios Grammozis (43/contract has been extended to 2023 through promotion) and transfer him around 100,000 euros per month.
