Santander brings together the champions of the future at the inclusive CESA 2022

Santander becomes the national capital of badminton on the occasion of the Spanish Championship of Regional Teams of School Age and Inclusive (CESA). A total of 335 athletes from 18 Autonomous Communities are meeting from this Thursday at the Municipal Sports Palace of the Cantabrian capital, located on Alcalde Vega Lamera street.

The CESA 2022 includes the children’s and cadet tests, in addition to the already traditional inclusive competition, which is promoted by the Sanitas Foundation. In the Palacio de Deportes, also known as ‘the whale’, 11 tracks have been set up to host this event, which begins at 9:00 am this Thursday and will conclude on Sunday with the awarding of medals.

It should be noted that the inclusive competition starts at 1:00 p.m. this Friday and will face the teams from Galicia, La Rioja, Castilla la Mancha and Andalusia. The four registered teams will compete against each other in a 60-point team relay format. The first team to reach that number will be the winner of the match.

The first game will be played until one of the teams reaches 20 points, the second game will start with the score of the first and will continue from that score, although in such a way that the losing team of the first game has reached a minimum of 10 points or the actual number achieved, whichever is greater. The second game will be played until one of the teams reaches 40 points. The third game will start with the score of the second and will continue from that score, but in such a way that the losing team of the first game has reached a minimum of 20 points or the actual number reached, whichever is greater. The third match will be played until one of the teams reaches 60 points and thus wins the match.

The champions of the future will face each other in a competition that in its 2021 edition, held at the Carolina Marín Sports Palace in Huelva, had the great winners of the teams from Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Andalusia and Asturias.
