The Spanish coach leaves Amaiur, Ainhoa, Nerea, Zornoza and Abelleira out of his call-up of 23 players and recruits the young promise from Villarreal
The Spanish women’s team already has its final list of 23 players for the European Championship, which will be played in England from July 6 to 31. The coach, Jorge Vilda, facilitated this Monday the call for the great continental tournament, in which is the young promise of Villarreal Salma Paralluelo and from which the Real Sociedad striker Amaiur Sarriegi, the midfielders Claudia Zornoza and Teresa Abelleira, from Real Madrid, and Nerea Eizagirre, from Real, as well as Athletic defender Nerea Vicente.
The five would be priority options in the event of a last-minute withdrawal due to covid or injuries, as was the case of Jenni Hermoso, a sensitive withdrawal from the European Championship due to a grade 2 sprain in the internal lateral ligament of the right knee, since the regulations allow changes to be made to the list of each selection up to 48 hours before the start of the tournament.

The young Villarreal attacker is at 18 years old a physical prodigy capable of combining football and athletics at the highest level in her specialty of the 400 meters and 400 hurdles, she has an enviable record with the lower categories of the national team – champion of Europe and the World Cup with the U-17 in 2018- and she is one of the pearls of the new generation of Spanish soccer players despite not having debuted yet. Physical ailments prevented him from debuting with Spain in the rout against Australia (7-0) at the Nuevo Colombino de Huelva.
