ROLAND-GARROS LADIES’ DOUBLE FINAL MLADENOVIC-GARCIA POWER 2

MLADENOVIC-GARCIA POWER 2

While their journey in singles had been very fast, Kristina Mladenovic and Caroline Garcia won the ladies’ doubles at Roland-Garros this Sunday, June 5. It’s their second title after 2016. They overturned a final that got off to a bad start for them and beat Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula in three sets: 2-6, 6-3 and 6-2.

THE DECLARATION OF NORTHERN KRISTINA MLADENOVIC

It was a Fed Cup atmosphere. It was great, lots of chills and emotion. In 2016, it was the dream, we found ourselves in our first Grand Slam tournament final, at Roland-Garros… It was incredible. Many things have happened; we have both traveled quite a bit. We have our great experience behind us, the Fed Cup, a final at the US Open… We decided to change strategy for the second round because we were suffering too much. We challenged them at the net and that’s when the game changed completely. «
