Rick van Drongelen about car accident: ‘Airbag saved me’ | Football

While an 18-year-old man was killed, the damage for Van Drongelen was limited to two broken fingers and a few wounds to his knee and hip. It has become scars now that the player is back in Germany (he was loaned out to Mechelen) at Union Berlin.

“I was lucky. The airbag saved me,” the 23-year-old mandekker tells Bild around the first training session of the season. “Everything is going well with me now and I’m happy to be back here and on the field.”

It was previously announced by Union Berlin that Van Drongelen was not at all to blame for the accident.
