Reinforcement for the runner-up: Andrés Rentería arrives in Tolima

The Colombian professional soccer runner-up confirmed his first reinforcement for the second semester. Less than 24 hours after losing the BetPlay League final against Atlético Nacional (despite the 2-1 win in Ibagué), Deportes Tolima made the signing of Andrés Rentería official.

“With passage in teams like San Lorenzo, Cruz Azul and Santos Laguna, Andrés Rentería joins the discipline of our Club to meet the challenges of the second semester. We keep working! ”, Points out the trill from Tolima next to a photograph in which the striker receives the shirt of his new team.

Tolima will be the sixth FPC team in the career of the 29-year-old striker, who made his professional debut at Atlético Nacional and went through Alianza Petrolera, Águilas Doradas, Independiente Santa Fe and Jaguares de Córdoba. Abroad, he defended the colors of Santos Laguna, Querétaro and Cruz Azul in Mexico and San Lorenzo in Argentina.

Rentería comes from a year in the Cordovan club, with which he scored 12 goals in 29 appearances between Liga BetPlay and Copa Colombia, 27 of them as a starter. His last goal was in mid-March in the 3-1 loss against the FPC champion, Atlético Nacional.match in which he was expelled.

The team led by Hernán Torres needs to quickly turn the page on the final, as this week will start the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, phase in which they will face Flamengo starting in Ibagué this Wednesday, June 29. The series will close in Rio de Janeiro on July 6.
