Regional Grand Prix Beginners, protagonists the athletes of Kan Judo Olbia

OLBIA. Excellent results of Kan Judo Olbia in the trip to Arborea, where the second phase of the Regional Grand Prix Esordienti took place. Categories in race A (12 years) and beginners B (13/14 years) for a scoring circuit divided into three stages. The Olbiese team participated with seven athletes, all coming from the youth sector nursery of Kan judo Olbia, followed by the teacher and president Angelo Calvisi with 5th dan, together with the technician Gavino Carta with 3rd dan, and Mario Fusaro with 2nd dan in the gym in via Perù. The race recorded a very high technical rate. Present on the tatamis the best regional exponents of this competitive class.

Five medals out of seven were won by the representatives of the Olbiese judo, two golds, one silver and two bronze medals. There are many clubs and athletes involved in this, hopefully, rebirth of post-Covid youth judo.

Jacopo Merone reconquers the gold in the 60 kilos.esord.B and Diego Langiu a good bronze in the 55kg debut.B (the most numerous and fierce category. Another bronze was, then, conquered by Gabriele Piccinnu in the 46 kilos.
Definitely positive and auspicious for the future (the third phase of the grand prix will be staged at the end of September in olbia) of the boys who performed well technically and competitively in the new competitive stage.
They did not manage to get on the podium, but they still won some matches by finishing in 5th place, the athletes Dennis Canu kg. 55, and Andrea Piccinnu in the 50 kilos, both authors of a good performance, and who will surely do it again in the next stage of the grand prix circuit.

“We are very satisfied – then concluded Maestro Calvisi – for these results obtained in the various regional competitions for the youth classes 12/14 years”. Meanwhile, training with 5 daily shifts in the Olbia kan judo gym will continue until 1 July, and then reopen on 1 September after the summer break.
