Different disciplines such as tennis, rugby, hockey, boxing, judo, karate, among others, competed.
The Municipality of Córdoba recognized outstanding athletes who obtained important achievements in the South American Youth Games, held in Rosario on April 28 and May 8.
“We wanted to recognize them, recognize their effort, because to be able to compete and represent Córdoba in Argentina, effort is needed. This municipality is proud of athletes who are from Córdoba, who are from a club, they are ours, from the city, that is why they can count on us”said the Secretary of Government, Miguel Siciliano.
In karate, sword, judo and box, they were recognized: Valentina AlamoSilver medal in women’s 52 kg in judo; Stephen Barrionuevo, Bronze medal in 66 kgs in judo; Evelin Diaz Biasizzo, karate gold medalist in women’s +59 kg; Lautaro DestribatsSilver medal in men’s 71 kg in Wrestling; Amparo Perez ContrerasBronze medal in sword and boxer Abel Agustín RomeroBronze medal in 57 kg.
For their part, in tennis, hockey and rugby, they stood out: Luciana Moyanotennis player with a gold medal in women’s singles and doubles; Nicholas RodriguezGold medal in hockey; Faustino Sanchez Valarolo, Gold medal in rugby and Valentin Soler, Gold medal in rugby.
“It has been a pride and they have made the sport of the Capital and the Province look very good, that is why we salute you to make a small recognition. The doors of the municipality are open to solve any problem they may have and to contain them in whatever is needed”concluded the Undersecretary of Sports and Recreation, Medardo Ligorria.
At the same time, Sports and Recreation authorities were present, Horacio Garimaldi, Román Huespe and Edgardo Antonelli, representatives of different federations, including José Morales, from the Cordoba Judo Federation, Juan Pérez, Cordoba Tennis Federation, Daniel García, Cordoba Amateur Field Hockey Federation and Gabriel Domínguez, from the Cordoba Rugby Union.
