PSSI Allows Shin Tae Yong to Go Home and Take Leave

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Chairman PSSIMochamad Iriawan will provide Shin Tae Yong vacation time and return home or go home after AFF U-19 Cup 2022.

The 2022 AFF U-19 Cup will take place in Jakarta and Bekasi on 2-15 July. After that, there was no agenda for the Indonesian National Team (senior), U-19, and U-23. Hence Shin would be given a short break.

“We [PSSI] will love Shin Tae Yong’s holiday in July. Pity too. He must [harus] return to South Korea to meet his family,” said Irawan at the Madya Stadium, Thursday (23/6).

“Currently, Shin is focusing on the U-19s who will participate in the AFF Cup. If there are no activities for the U-23s, seniors are taking a break to return to the club. So we are waiting, he will train again ahead of the FIFA Matchday,” he said.

After the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup, the next national team agenda is the U-16 AFF Cup on 1 July to 13 August. It’s just that Shin is not involved in this team because it was handed over to the Tukiman Milky Way.

There is also the 2022 AFF U-19 Women’s Cup from 22 July to 4 August. This championship will take place in Palembang. Just like the U-16 national team, Shin was not involved in the men’s team because it was held by Rudy Eka Priyambada.

In other words, Shin has two months off, namely in July and August. Shin’s closest agenda is to handle the U-19 Indonesian National Team, which will appear in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers on September 10-18.

After that, Shin had to switch to handling the Indonesian national team in the international calendar. The FIFA Matchday agenda will take place on 19-27 September. The Indonesian national team is likely to play one or two matches.

Until now PSSI is still looking for the right match. It is hoped that through this trial match, Indonesia’s ranking can rise from 155th position. For possible locations in Solo or Jakarta.
