Police make basketball ‘challenges’ with high school students

Juarez City- The Municipal Public Security Secretariat, through the Crusade for Youth group, carried out basketball “challenges” with students from the Technical Secondary School 90.

The agents of the group belonging to the Directorate of Social Prevention went to the educational institution located on Juárez Porvenir highway and Rivera de Ojinaga street, with the aim of living with the students and promoting sports activity, for which they organized the competition.

The activity consisted of making teams of five, with a stipulated time of around 10 minutes per game, so that the 15 teams that the students made up had the opportunity to participate.

Crusade for Youth detects, in coordination with educational institutions, young people with behavioral problems, to support them with activities and proper monitoring, and thereby prevent them from engaging in illicit acts or criminal activities.

Alan García, 15, a student at the school visited, stated that the activity with the policemen changed the concept he had of them, since he considered them too serious and not very accessible. Thanks to the sports coexistence he was able to observe that “they are very cool” and thanked them for the time they shared.

For her part, Yara Vargas, 14, assured that she now has a police friend. While it was “a very fun moment because they were able to live with them.”
