The Italian-American power forward Paolo Banchero has become the first choice of the 2022 NBA Draft, being selected by the Orlando Magic.
At 19 years old, Banchero is coming off a unique but outstanding season in college basketball representing Duke, where he averaged 17.2 points per game, with 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks.
Banchero’s No. 1 overall pick by the Magic came as quite a surprise, as it had been calculated that he would be taken No. 3 by the Houston Rockets. In this way, Orlando secures an inmate of 2.08 in height who stands out for his enormous scoring ability, in addition to the versatility that characterizes him to pass the ball and when defending.
