After the defeat two days ago in Bologna, which had kept the series open, Olimpia made a strong start in game-6 at the Assago Forum, scoring 29 points in the first quarter alone, against 16 for Virtus. He then maintained the lead until the end, peaking 17 points in the third quarter and 26 in the last.
The team coached by Ettore Messina, with former NBA players Gigi Datome, Nicolò Melli and Sergio Rodríguez on the pitch, returned to win the Scudetto four years after the last time, taking it away from the Virtus of Sergio Scariolo, reigning champion and his most great rival, against whom he lost the finals last year with a clear 4-0.
