Andrew Albicy extends to Gran Canaria and will be linked to the club until 2025.
L’international tricolore, Andrew Albicy (1.78m, 32 years old) extends his contract with Gran Canaria for three seasons, one of which is optional and will now be linked to the club until 2025.
Arrived two seasons ago from Russia where he played for Zenit Saint-Petersburg, the native of Sèvres (Hauts-de-Seine) played 95 games with the Las Palmas club and already stands as one of the essential links in the club for two seasons. During this 2021-2022 fiscal year, he shot 6 points, 1.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1 steal for 7.3 rating in 26 games for 23 minutes of play on average.
A situation that must necessarily delight him, he who had told BeBasket a little earlier in the season, his desire to stay in Spain:
It’s not over. I still hope to have five good years in the legs at a high level. I am 32 years old, I have nothing more to prove to anyone. If someone wants me, they know what I’m going to bring. We will see what will come to me this summer, I am no longer under contract with Gran Canaria. If I can, I would like to stay in Spain. My wife is Spanish so that helps. I am open to all possible opportunities but there will be a priority on Spain.
A new season is preparing in Spain, therefore, for Andrew Albicy, who will be coached by former player, Jako Lakovic.
