Commenting on the Algerians’ first outing, national coach Ahmed Moussa told APS that he was not surprised by the results of his judokas.

“Personally, I expected these results in the weight categories scheduled for this first day. The presence of high-level judokas complicated our task, not to mention the draw which was not lenient with our judokas “, he said.

The same technician is counting heavily on the second day, scheduled for Thursday, which will see the entry into the running of four elements of the national team, namely, Driss Messaoud Redaouane (-73 kg) and Imad Benazzoug (-81k) at the gentlemen, as well as Belkadi Amine (-63 kg) and Bellakhal Souad (-70 kg).

“We are counting heavily on these four judokas to try to open the ball in terms of medals, even if the mission will still be difficult, due to the presence here of Olympic and world champions. Even the selection of France, which participates with his team under 20, has great potential,” he said.
