NBA rumours: Spurs solicit bids for Dejounte Murray trade

Dejounte Murray was one of last season’s breakout stars and the San Antonio Spurs guard may be available. Like Jake Fisher (Bleacher Report) reported, there were already talks about a trade.

San Antonio is therefore getting offers for the 25-year-old, who became an All-Star for the first time last season. The demands are high, allegedly a comparable package is required as with Jrue Holiday, for which Milwaukee made three first-round picks two years ago.

Specifically, San Antonio has already spoken to the Atlanta Hawks, as Fischer reports. There is a trade in the room that would bring John Collins to San Antonio, among others. Talks between the two teams are said to have taken place last February, but no trade was made at the time.

Even now, both teams are probably still a long way away. Like Chris Kirschner (The Athletic) reports they are “not close” to an agreement. San Antonio demands more from Murray than just Collins. In addition to Atlanta, the Knicks and Wizards could also bid, both of which are also urgently looking for another guard.

Murray averaged 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists last season. His current contract runs until 2024 and will bring him $ 16.6 million and $ 17.7 million respectively in the next two seasons – with a contract extension, he should earn significantly more money thanks to his increased production.
