NBA, Gallinari in the sights of the Spurs. Irving renews for a year with the Nets – Sport

New York (United States), June 28, 2022 – With the approach of the free agency NBA 2022, the market between franchises that could also involve Danilo Gallinari. The blue in a few days will enter the third year of the three-year contract for over 60 million dollars in total signed in 2020 with the Atlanta Hawks. Of the more than 20 million remaining contracts, however, only five are guaranteed because the Georgia franchise can decide to free the player by guaranteeing him only a quarter of the total salary. The next few days will therefore be decisive to understand what the future of the blue will be, with the possibility of a trade that remains quite concrete. Against the “Gallo” it seems the interest of the San Antonio Spurs is quite strong of coach Popovich who, in return, would have put Dejonte Murray’s contract on the plate.

Kyrie Irving’s future

However, among the players rebounded to the honors of the market news there is also Kyrie Irving, whose future still seems tied to the colors of the Brooklyn Nets. The player, who missed several races this year for deciding not to vaccinate against Covid-19, has in fact chosen to exercise the 37 million option in his favor to stay at least another year in the “Big Apple”. The possibility of a trade is therefore blurred. In recent days there was in fact talk of a “sign-and-trade” between the Nets and the Lakers who would have offered in exchange for the former Cavs Westbrook and various future choices. The salary cap problems of the yellow-purple franchise and the coldness on the part of the Nets in front of the name of Westrbrook, however, made everything go away. Not to mention that Irving’s farewell would also have prompted Durant to consider the opportunity to change teams, with Damian Lillard who had tried to “woo” via social media KD. Now it will be necessary to understand if Irving will find the agreement for a longer renewal with the Nets or if he will choose next summer to probe the “free agency” and maybe just delay his arrival in Los Angeles.
