CELTICS – MARCUS SMART (Starting Point Guard): Had a great start, but then completely lost the thread due to foul play and was not as strong defensively as usual. Nevertheless by far the best plus/minus in Boston (+7). grade: 4

JAYLEN BROWN (Starting Shooting Guard): The 5 turnovers were annoying again, but Brown scored an efficient 34 points and was at times the only dynamic Celtic in attack. Grade: 2.

JAYSON TATUM (Starting Small Forward): The playmaking was solid, his start into the game was actually quite good – and still it was way too little. Ended up refusing shots, his finishing was disastrous. Grade: 5.5.

AL HORFORD (Starting Power Forward): Kept Boston in the second half along with Brown overall in the draw, his team’s top shooter and rebounder. It wasn’t the oldie’s fault. Rating: 1.5.

ROBERT WILLIAMS III (Starting Center): His shot blocking was outstanding again, allowing very little at the basket and even blocking threes. Too often, however, on an island and offensively without much influence. Grade: 2.5.

DERRICK WHITE (backup guard): He lost his confidence throughout the series and didn’t get it back. Almost unplayable in the end. grade: 5

PAYTON PRITCHARD (Backup Guard): Used a little early to help with spacing, didn’t work (0/2 3FG). Boston lost their 8 minutes by 20 points! grade: 5

GRANT WILLIAMS (Backup Forward): It wasn’t his streak, that continued into Game 6 as well. Only got rid of two throws and defensively didn’t have the impact as in some previous series. grade: 4

WARRIORS – STEPHEN CURRY (Starting Point Guard): A fitting ending to a great streak. Curry had his throw back but kept hurting Boston with the drive and making smart decisions. Note 1.

KLAY THOMPSON (Starting Shooting Guard): “Game 6 Klay” wasn’t – Thompson hit five of his 20 throws. The defense was still very solid. grade: 4

ANDREW WIGGINS (Starting Small Forward): Not as dominant as in Game 5, but that wasn’t necessary either. Wiggins did his job offensively, hit four three-pointers and was everywhere defensively, especially against Tatum. Rating: 1.5.

OTTO PORTER JR. (Starting Power Forward): The fifth starter again did a very useful job, hitting two of his three threes and then quickly making room for the more important players off the bench. Note 3.

DRAYMOND GREEN (Starting Center): Alongside Steph, the game changer for Golden State. Found defensively everywhere, strong up front as a playmaker, and then the throw fell! Keep pushing the pace, great game. Note 1.

JORDAN POOLE (backup guard): Gave the dubs the offensive push that was needed. Single-handedly had three times as many points as the entire Celtics bank (15:5). Grade: 2.

GARY PAYTON II (backup guard): What Poole brought offensively, Payton gave defensively. His ball pressure remains unbelievable, and his cuts up front are always dangerous. Grade: 2.

KEVON LOONEY (backup center): 7 rebounds, 6 of them offensive. Looney didn’t actually do more (0 points, 1 assist, 4 fouls), but that was still very valuable for his team. Grade: 3.5.
