Nacional vs. Tolima: former soccer player Elkin Murillo analyzes the end of the first leg in Medellín | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

The former soccer player Elkin Murillo referred to the vast victory of National Athletic in the first leg of the Liga Betplay I-2022. Deportes Tolima was severely beaten by Atanasio Girardot, with a 3-1 loss that they will now have to overcome at home. Hernán Torres’s proposal did not work out and the former striker who wore the burgundy and gold shirt in 2010, left him a couple of tips for the return game that will be on Sunday.

Murillo spoke with the program First Touch, by Win Sports, where he left his analysis of the match. “The feeling that it leaves one is that they are two very tough teams with a good payroll. Suddenly the position that Tolima had in this first game many people did not expect, which was to give the ball to Nacional and counterattack him. Nacional was very intelligent and Tolima’s only option was to play directly with Plata. The dubbing they did to Ánderson made a lot of difference there.”

Elkin did not want to take sides with one of the two finalists, but he did make it clear that anything can happen. “In the end they got a difference, which for a final between two teams that play football well and are always fighting for the title, is quite wide (…) These are two greats in Colombian football and they are going to be in a good scenario , and Tolima is strong at home. For me, anyone who wins is fine. This game left me happy”.

Finally, he left some advice to Torres and his followers, thinking of going back to Nacional. “Tolima has to improve possession of the ball again, to be patient again to go forward. They have good players but now is where you say how long patience can last when they are two goals down and more against a rival like Nacional that has improved a lot in defense. The key beyond being by two goals is still very open. Nacional has everything in its favor, but if they are wrong, Tolima has shown how to come out of difficult moments”.
