Morelos will begin its selection process for players who will attend the U21 Men’s National Basketball Championship to be held in Sonora.
The call for the national event was launched by the Mexican Sports Basketball Association (ADEMEBA), which is still without a president due to the resignation of Xóchitl Lagarda in October 2020.
However, with Modesto Robledo as interim president, the activities of the national burst sport continue to be celebrated, as will happen with this national meeting that will take place from August 25 to 29 in Nogales, a city in the border state.
In accordance with the call, ADEMEBA summons the affiliated states to participate, expecting in this final phase the representation of each federal entity.
According to the participating states, in the National for under 21s they hope to form groups of four teams which would play all against all (Round Robin), classifying the first two teams to the final stage for the championship.
The event will take place in four gyms in the city of Sonora, which will have adequate floor conditions, with electronic scoreboards, dressing rooms and benches for the correct development of the competition.
The reorganizing commission of ADEMEBA reported that the National Teams Commission will be present to follow up on the pre-selection already formed, and will be attentive to detecting new elements with enough talent to be integrated.
After informing that the current regulations of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) will be applied in the event, he announced that the previous meeting will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 6:00 p.m. (from the center of the republic) via Zoom to give all the details of the event.
Based on this call, ADEMEBA Morelos informed that it will carry out its state eliminatory process to form its representative, which should be held to have the men’s U21 team no later than the first weeks of August.
“We are going to upload the call to the ADEMEBA Morelos portal to see how many leagues or teams enter the tie; We will see with the coaches the material that we have for high competition and with the presidents of the leagues”, indicated the president of the association, Manuel Montenegro Almanza.
