NEW YORK — Major League Baseball teams will now be able to sell partnerships with CBD companies.
CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol, a molecule found naturally in cannabis.
The commissioner’s office informed the teams that the partner will need to be certified by the NSF, an international health and safety organization, to ensure that CBD products do not contain THC which could cause psychoactive effects.
Said sponsor must also be approved by the commissioner’s office.
MLB relayed this information to teams on Tuesday. The news was first reported by the Sports Business Journal.
