Mercato: Bayer denies PSG’s interest in Diaby

Despite some rumors in Germany, Bayer Leverkusen denied to Kicker having received any interest from PSG for their winger Moussa Diaby (22).

Leaving Paris almost three years ago, Moussa Diaby has become a player of a completely different standing under the colors of Bayer Leverkusen to the point of becoming a French international. His good performances have also attracted several very good clubs and PSG was recently cited as one of the clubs having inquired about the availability of a player he knows perfectly for having trained him then launched as a pro during the 2018/2019 season.

This interest of PSG for Moussa Diaby was denied by Bayer Leverkusen to the German media Kicker today. To this source, the Ruhr club denied having received the slightest sign of interest from the capital club for its former player. Another clarification provided by Kicker, a transfer from Diaby will be negotiated between 70 and 100M€, which is quite a gain for a player bought for 15M€ barely three years ago.

PSG benefits from a resale percentage of 20% on the capital gain, which would allow it to necessarily pay less than the other clubs since this sum to be paid back would be subtracted from the total. He still has to decide to take action, which is by no means obvious for the moment. In England, Newcastle’s interest in Diaby is regularly recalled but the player does not necessarily see the English club as a very attractive destination and a transfer this summer is considered unlikely overall.

As a reminder, the other former Parisian regularly cited for a possible return to the fold, Christopher Nkunku, extended his contract with RB Leipzig today. For him as for Diaby, a future in red and blue is therefore very distant at this hour.
