Mayor Giffey receives Master Alba Berlin

Berlin. The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey, received the German basketball champion Alba Berlin. “Berlin congratulates its albatrosses on the eleventh championship in the club’s history, which the team has won with this brilliant best-of-five final series. Winning the championship title for the third time in a row, and also winning the cup this March, is a great and impressive performance,” said the 44-year-old at the reception in the Red City Hall on Monday, “the sports metropolis of Berlin is proud of Alba Berlin. We are happy to welcome the team to the championship reception for Alba in the Red City Hall.”
Alba secured their third consecutive championship with their third win in the fourth playoff final at Bayern Munich on Sunday. Alba coach Israel Gonzalez’s team then signed the city’s guest book. As a thank you for the reception, the coach and team returned the favor and presented Giffey with a medal and the championship T-shirt with the words “Threepeat” printed on it for the third championship title won in a row.
