Ligue 1 : Ludovic Giuly integrates the staff of l’OL

Olympique Lyonnais continues its reorganization. The day after the first speech by John Textor, the future majority shareholder, OL announces, this Wednesday, the arrival of Ludo Giuly as assistant coach, in charge of the attackers in the staff of Peter Bosz. His appointment is part of the stated desire of the leaders to give a large place to the “children” of the club.

Trained with Les Gones, with whom he won the Gambardella Cup (1994) and played 131 professional matches (1994-1998), the 45-year-old former French international (17 caps) notably won Ligue 1, La Liga and La Champions League during his playing career. Passed by Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Monaco and Lorient, he has signed up for 2 seasons and will be present at the resumption on July 2.

“I am very honored to come back here to Lyon! It is a strong gesture on the part of the club to have thought of me and to give me this responsibility, explained Giuly who officiated as a consultant at Amazon Prime last season. I will try to keep my identity, working hard, respecting the values of the club, but always in a good mood. I was eager to get back on the pitch but I’m also here to learn. Giuly had a first experience on the bench as assistant coach of the AS Monaco reserve in 2019.

In addition, Bruno Cheyrou will also be much closer to the professional group from the start. Technical advisor and director of the recruitment unit, he will, in particular, be the link between the coach, Peter Bosz, and the players during the season.
