Leisure program ’12 moons’ in Zaragoza: how to register and deadlines

The most consolidated youth leisure program in the city, ‘12 lunas’will offer this summer more than 30 recreational, cultural and sports activities with the aim of offering young people healthy alternatives during these holidays. Given the season of the year and with the arrival of good weather, Outdoor activities in contact with nature such as excursions, canoeing and river descents have been prioritized.

Zaragoza City Council thus consolidates the offer with a program promoted by the Youth Service to offer young people between the ages of 14 and 30 a healthier model of relationships and free time. In this way, some of the most successful sports or cultural activities in recent years are maintained and new ones are incorporated to meet the needs of this group.

Altogether they will be 30 activities with 45 sessions and 1,100 places “so that young people have fun, learn and interact in a healthy and creative leisure environment”, commented the Councilor for Youth, Maria Antonanzas.

The registration period opens this monday 27 of June for the activities that take place in July. For those scheduled in August, the deadline it will open on the 8th of the same month, while for those in September it will be from August 23rd.

Nature occupies an important space in the program with outdoor sports activities such as canoeing, archery or ornithological descents to know the closest environment. One of the most popular sections among the young public is the “round trip” excursions.

In this edition, young people will have many options to choose from, since it offers a day of fun in Port Aventura, and excursions to caves of the Vall d’Uixó, Roncesvalles or at the birth of Urederra and Estella riversas well as a visit to Saint Sebastian.

The culture, music, cuisine and urban art complete the programming of this 12 moons, with themed gymkhana, cooking courses, gastronomic trivia and oriental dance sessions. And for those looking fun activities are scheduled yellow mood, a zombie attack and a full day at the amusement park.

The ’12 moons’ programme, whose main objectives are the promotion of young health and the promotion of socio-cultural activities, It is financed in part with the subsidy of the National Plan on Drugs of the Ministry of Health, which distributes the funds seized from drug trafficking among local corporations. In the last call, Zaragoza has been the first city that has received the most amount among the 44 Spanish towns presented with 627,469 euros.
