Latvian beach volleyball family faces profound conflict – Other sports – Apollo.lv – Sports

Before the upcoming European Championship, a selection tournament was held in the respective age group, where it turned out that the first Latvian couple in this competition will be Regute / Konstantinova, but the second Līva Ēbere and Kitija Martini. However, shortly afterwards, it was decided that in the first duo, Constantinople would be dominated by Eber, while Regute would compete with Martin.

LVF Secretary General Arnis Tunte explained that the reason for changing the composition of the duo was a long-running conflict in the team.

“For some time now, there have been rumors that the girls have both communication problems and disagreements with the coach,” Tunte was quoted as saying in the LVF statement. “After a while, we received a letter from coach Alexander Solovay asking him to change the line-up and to identify Liv Eber and Daniel Konstantinov as the first pair, and Amanda Reguti and Kitty Martini as the second. On the same day, LVF received the application from Regute.”

After that, a meeting was convened with the participation of all parties involved – Regute with her mother, who posted on Facebook, expressing dissatisfaction with the decision, Konstantinova, Ebere, beach volleyball team coordinator Sandra Selga and Tuntu.

“Hello! I need advice! My daughter is playing beach volleyball! With her partner, she won the right to represent Latvia as the first couple in EC beach volleyball in the U-20 group. And the coaches announced that they were changing my daughter to another. , to be more precise, one “***” said about the overtime and the whole board handed it over to her “stabule” makes my daughter replay. How legal is it? And what can we do? I hope there is a lawyer and will be able to help us with advice , “Ilze, the mother of beach volleyball player Amanda Regutes, writes on her Facebook profile.

During the meeting, it became clear that the continued existence of the team is not possible, so options were proposed by LVF to address the situation. The first envisaged Regute / Martini becoming the first pair in the European Championship, while the second solution would determine the strongest pair again.

With the unanimous support of the decision, it was decided in favor of additional selection games to be played in the near future.

The European U-20 Beach Volleyball Championship will take place in Turkey on July 14-17. Last year, Anete Namiķe / Varvara Brailko reached the quarterfinals, where she failed.
