La Paz triumphs in archery in Santa Cruz – El Diario

Camila Paredes and Luis Araujo from La Paz won the Recurve and Compound categories in the national archery tournament, held over the weekend in Santa Cruz, prior to the trip to Valledupar, venue for the XIX Bolivarian Games, which will begin this Friday June 24 and will last until July 5.
As national champions, Paredes and Araujo will set foot on Colombian soil, where they will begin the Olympic cycle with the challenge of going far in these Bolivarian Games, whose competition in this discipline will be held from July 1 to 4.
Paredes, Youth Scholar for Olympic Solidarity, won in recurve bow with 513 points, shooting arrows 70 meters from the target at the Abraham Telchi Sports Village in Santa Cruz. The podium was completed by Ingrid Zurita (Cochabamba) with 436 and Ericka Arredondo (La Paz) with 417.
Meanwhile, Araujo shot a Compound bow at 50 meters scoring 629, beating Juan Barragan (La Paz) with 605 and Edgar Vásquez (Santa Cruz) with 561 in a successful weekend for the La Paz delegation.
