Kevin Mier after David Ospina in the ranking of young champion goalkeepers in Colombia | Colombian Soccer | Betplay League

The champion archer with National Athletic, Kevin Leonardo Mier, has already established himself in the history of Colombian soccer not only because of the 17th star he conquered with the purslane, but also because he became one of the youngest in his position, reaching a title. After David Ospinawho kissed the trophy in 2007 at just 19 years old, the one who is second on that list is the one born in Barrancabermeja.

Mier, who has just turned 22, was one of the great figures in the Nacional title and not only because of what he did in the final against Deportes Tolima, where he saved Daniel Cataño from a penalty, but because he was key in several games of the tournament. Kevin played 28 games, made 12 clean sheets and played the last 12 League games without changing positions.

Transfermarkt recently highlighted what was done by the 22-year-old goalkeeper, who entered a select group of young goalkeepers to reach the title in Colombia. After Ospina, Mier appears as the second youngest to achieve it.

In the 27 championships between David’s 2007-II title and Kevin’s 2022-I, only three 23-year-old goalkeepers managed to be crowned champions. They are Camilo Vargas, who achieved it with Santa Fe in 2012-I, Álvaro Montero with Deportes Tolima in 2018-I and Joel Graterol with América in the 2020 League.

They are already looking for this purslane jewel in international football. In the last few hours it became known that she has three suitors: Pachuca from Mexico, Coritiba from Brazil and Sporting de Braga from Portugal. Now, everything will depend on the plans that the club has in mind.
