Keegan Murray approaches the Kings

As Sacramento fans and many NBA executives await the Kings’ final decision on their fourth pick in the draft, a prospect looks with optimism and ambition his imminent jump to professional basketball.

According to information from the journalist The AthleticShams Charania, the Kings feel increasingly comfortable and determined to use their pick, which had aroused great expectation in the league after it was leaked that the organization was listening to offers for him. Thus, the main name that is considered to land in California is Keegan Murray, a student trained at the University of Iowa.

Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé has openly shared his favoritism for Murray, which is also shared by new head coach Mike Brown. The opinion of general manager of the Kings, Monte McNair, has more weight – at least on paper – than Ranadivé’s, but the position of both figures in the organization invites us to think that Murray’s option could prevail over that of Jaden Ivey, the other great favorite to be chosen in fourth position.

Other signs point to the possible link between franchise and player. Journalist Chris Haynes reported Monday that the Kings hosted a dinner with the prospect which also included the stars of the team, De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. In addition, Murray himself expressed his desire to play in Sacramento during the Draft Media Day.

Charania points out that the option of transferring the pick It’s still open, but this new information suggests that if he’s not traded to another team, Keegan Murray will be the Kings’ pick.
