Judo veterans and para, a great medal for Laurence

The first French championship for veteran judo and parajudo (hearing and visually impaired) took place on June 18 and 19 in Tremblay-en-France (Seine-Saint-Denis). Laurence Garnier, 1st dan black belt, 12 years of judo, was selected to participate in these championships.

The competitions, she already knows to participate in them since 2014 in order to progress in the technique. The judoka is very happy with her 3rd place this year.

At 50, Laurence does not intend to hang up his belt and intends to achieve other exploits. “I fought in F5 (age category) in less than 63 kg, she explains. Each fight was very difficult. My opponents had more power than me but also more experience. To hold the level over 3 fights, you had to have it under your feet.”
