Judo: “Thank you Jean-Claude! – JHM

SPORT. Me Judo-club Langres-Vingeanne celebrated its 50th birthday on Saturday June 25. More than a birthday, it is a real tribute that the judokas of the department, including the Olympic medalist Axel Clerget, paid to Jean-Claude Noël who worked to promote this sport all his life.

If proof was needed that the name of Jean-Claude Noël will forever be engraved in the history of judo in Haute-Marne in general and in the south of the department in particular, then the gala given on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the club was one. Because this anniversary was as much a tribute to this man who invested his whole life in promoting judo and trained, during his career, no less than 77 black belts. And, when the Langrois club issued its invitations to the various clubs in the department, many wanted to be there. “We have representatives from Chaumont, Andelot, Nogent, Chalindrey, Rolampont-Chanoy, Illoud, Marnaval and Fayl-Billot who have joined us to greet and thank Jean-Claude for all he has been able to do for our discipline. “, said Laurent Garcia, president of the Judo-club of Langres. An anniversary which was an opportunity for the youngest to approach senior officers and an Olympic champion, Axel Clerget, who also came to pay tribute to Jean-Claude Noël and share his passion for this sport. Thus, the team gold medalist gladly made some demonstrations and gave advice to the young judokas who did not hide their pleasure or their admiration. A great experience which then gave way to a moment of palpable emotion. Indeed, Jean-Claude Noël puts an end to this long career. Thus, surrounded by the youngest as well as the oldest, some of whom he trained himself, Jean-Claude Noël was offered a few presents before being applauded for a long time by all the judokas. Finally, other demonstrations followed before the belts were awarded by the highest ranking officers, including Axel Clerget and Jean-Claude Noël himself.
