The judo fighter Katharina Menz is known for her offensive style – with which she wants to win the title at the German Championships in Stuttgart. The athlete from Magstadt also has a score to settle with the Olympics and is therefore already looking forward to Paris.
Judo means “gentle way” in Japanese. So far, Katharina Menz has probably gotten away with a black eye. The judo fighter is 31 years old, but she has not yet seriously injured herself. She never had to be operated on, so as an athlete you can knock on wood. Judo can certainly hurt, but that’s the way it is in sport in general, says Katharina Menz with a refreshing laugh and is proud of her thin medical record: “I only had minor ailments.”
