JM 2022-Judo: Driss Messaoud in the final – Horizons

Messaoud Redaouane ensured this Thursday the first Algerian medal in judo during the second day of the tournament of this discipline counting for the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games (JM) which continue in Oran, by qualifying in the final (-73 kg), when her compatriot, Amina Belkadi will play the bronze final (-63 kg). Messaoud, reigning African champion, validated his ticket for the last fight of his weight category after taking the upper hand respectively over Kulhaj Indrit (Albania), Bawan Hassen (Syria) and Akil Gjakova (Kosovo). He will be opposed in the final against the Moroccan Hassan Doukkali who for his part dominated the Tunisian Aleddine Ben Chalbi in the other semi-final. For her part, Amina Belkadi, exempt from the first round, succeeded in her fight in the quarter-finals against the French Turpin Melodie, before losing in the semi-finals against Fazlin Laura (Kosovo).
