Japan beat Uruguay again before hosting France

The Japan rugby team dominated Uruguay for the second time in a week on Saturday, by a wider score (43-7), in Kitakyushu (southwest), a few days before hosting France for two test-matches at the beginning of July. The Japanese, quarter-finalists of the World Cup organized on their soil in 2019, won their first clash against Uruguay 34-15 in Tokyo last Saturday.

Hooker and captain Atsushi Sakate and center Dylan Riley each scored a first-half try before Sakate, winger Gerhard van der Heever, on his first game for Japan, and center Yusuke Kajimura added more tries after the break. Uruguay saved the honor with a try scored six minutes from time by Manuel Ardao.

Japan will intensify their preparation for the World Cup with the reception of France, holders of the Six Nations Tournament, at Toyota next Saturday, before meeting them at the Olympic stadium in Tokyo the following week.
