It’s party time in Nicolet!

2022 is a very special year for Ville de Nicolet, as it celebrates its 350th anniversary. To underline it in a big way, a panoply of activities have enlivened the city for some time, and several others are on display this summer.

The kick-off of the summer festivities will be given on June 23 and 24 on the occasion of the National Day of Quebec, celebrated at Parc Marguerite-d’Youville. A host of events will follow, starting with the presentation of the Peewee-Bantam Provincial Baseball Tournament, from June 27 to July 10, at the Parc des Loisirs.

In July, the exhibition of photographs ” Between river and tide » will take place at the quay of Port-Saint-François. On the 15th, the 4 Knights will compete with the Bombardiers of Nicolet in a humorous ball game at the Parc des Loisirs. On the 16th, the Place du 350e Nitek Laser will be inaugurated during a musical brunch, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. On the 21st, a comedy show with Jean-Claude Gélinas, Mégan Brouillard and Réal Béland is playing at Place du 350e (7:30 p.m.).

The party continues in August. On the 11th at 8.30 p.m., pianist Roman Zavada will pay tribute to the greatest geniuses of silent cinema at Place du 350e. Then, a big party at the Quai du Port-Saint-François beach (August 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), an evening of board games and a Living Library (August 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.), as well as a show surprise (August 25 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.) will precede the holding of a brand new event: the Festifeu. The latter will take place at Place du 350e from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on August 27. On the menu: conferences on hot sauce, music groups, exhibitors, food concessions, microbrewery beers, and more. Festival-goers will be able to take advantage of a “photobooth” which will remain in place until September 12.

Six other activities are on the September program: the photo exhibition In the footsteps of Duguay » at the Rodophe-Duguay house and studio; the showing of ” View of Nicolet at Place du 350e on September 1 at 7 p.m.; the show ” Hi Bob Sip » September 8 at 7:30 p.m.; the harvest festival September 10 (3 p.m. to 9 p.m.); an author meeting (Patrick Sénécal) on September 15 at 6:30 p.m.; and the Agricultural show September 24 at the agricultural school.
