“If Bacca comes I will see Junior more”: Luis Díaz

louis diaz Enjoy your last days holidays in Barranquilla. Between family, personal training, parties, outings to eat and shopping, among other plans, the peasant tries to take advantage of this sip of rest, more than deserved, after starring in a great season, first with Porto and then with Liverpool, with whom he had the opportunity to win two titles and fight for the Champions League final.

Before the day of the game arrives, to take on new challenges, the ‘Red’ winger attended the media at the Colombian Football Federation’s sports headquarters, where he spoke about many topics, including the Colombian national team, what’s to come with the Liverpoolthe Junior and what this time with his family and his roots has meant.

Díaz was excited about the new process that starts with the Colombian team led by the Argentine coach Nestor Lawrence and whose main objective is to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada

“It is a coaching staff that comes to work and that comes to guarantee us great and good things, so we have to trust them to get good results, which is what we want from now on,” he said.

The guajiro assures that he is ready and available for when he is needed in the National Team, having on the horizon that first friendly in the ‘Lorenzo era’ against Guatemala, on September 24.

“I will be available and eager to continue contributing. It will be the first meeting with the coaching staff, so it will be important”, he added on the subject of ‘la Amarilla’.

‘Luchito’ is optimistic and ambitious for the new season with Liverpool in England and Europe. The winger assures that they will go for all the titles again in a football year that will be more demanding than the previous one.

“We are very excited about this new season. There is a good base and important footballers have arrived who will surely give us a hand. The idea is the same as always, to fight with everything and that’s what we’re going to aim for. Soon we will have revenge for those titles that we did not get with Liverpool, ”he said.

Díaz believes that to fight for everything they will have to have a perfect campaign, taking into account the difficulty that it will mean to face a championship as demanding as the Premier, where the best players and coaches in the world arrive every year.

“No one doubts that the Premier is the best league in the world, that is why the demand is greater. Great references are coming to all the teams, so we must work very hard to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves”, he assured.

The former Junior player never forgets the team he loves and with which he became known in the world. The peasant spoke of the present of the rojiblanco team and is excited about a name to reinforce the currambero attack, that of Charles Bacca.

“I am always aware of Junior. Being in Liverpool he sometimes stayed up late to watch the games. Wishing that this season is much better and that the title is achieved, which is what all the fans want. You have to respect the processes,” he said.

“One is always excited that great players will join the team and Bacca is one of them. He is an idol, you love the institution and we all know what he can offer you. If before he was looking after Junior, now Bacca arrives much more, because we love him very much, ”he added.

The peasant does not lose his humility. In these days that he has spent between Barranquilla and his native Guajira, he has been seen sharing with people and trying to lead a normal life, despite being today a world star.

“I try to do the things I did before, although I am aware that it is not always possible. When I feel like having a red wine with bread, I do it. When I want to go shopping, I also try. And I like to share with people. I am happy for everything I have experienced these days with the family, that recharges one with energy, ”she concluded.
