In the XIX edition of the Bolivarian Games 2022 held in the ‘World Capital of Vallenato’, several were the scenarios arranged for the different competitions that take place in the sporting event.
The coliseums of the Bilingual schools of Valledupar and Comfacesar Rodolfo Campo Soto were the venues chosen to carry out one of the star disciplines of these Bolivarian Games.
The institutions that are used to give primary and secondary classes to children and young people in the capital of Cesar were transformed into scenarios to strengthen the sports culture of their students.
For its part, the Bilingual School lent its facilities for the different judo and taekwondo competitions that take place in the games.
Likewise, the Comfacesar School, in charge of the rector Oscar Cotes, provided a space within the facilities of the educational campus for the disciplines of karate and wrestling that have been carried out throughout the sports day.
ABOUT SPORTS
It is a combat sport that consists of knocking down or projecting the opponent against the floor, who falls on a tatami (shock-absorbing surface), which, complemented with clothing called judogui, protects judokas from friction and pulling that occur in combat.
TAEKWONDO
Taekwondo is of Korean origin and combines techniques from various disciplines such as kung fu and karate-do. It is a sport where athletes learn and implement fast and precise physical skills for fighting such as the use of feet, arms and fists.
KARATE
From the origins of karate as a sport, it must be that it arose from the combination of the ancient Chinese kempo, with techniques of the combat sport of India and the Japanese okinawa te. In 1922, karate spread as a sports discipline that mainly consists of hitting with the edge of the hand, the elbows or the feet, with the sole objective of knocking down the opponent or gaining points that allow them to win the fights. This sport is also often practiced as self-defense or scoring routines (kata).
LUCHA
Wrestling is one of the oldest combat sports that exists, which is practiced between two people who must develop all their skill, ability and strength in hand-to-hand combat. Both fighters must be completely unarmed in order to start combat.
