MAZATLAN. The Fresnillenses, Bernardo Aarón Ruíz Macías and Osmar Arteaga, had an outstanding performance in the Mazatlán Baseball Tournament 2022, reaching the semifinals and achieving a runner-up position with their respective teams.

Both players represented other states, by invitation, but they showed the great talent that exists in El Mineral for the king of sports.

The young Bernardo Aarón Ruíz Macías participated for the first time in the tournament and managed to reach the final in the older youth category, which ranges from 15 to 16 years of age, representing the Tamaulipas Astros commanded by Arturo Pérez.

The man from Fresnillo won the runner-up position, but left a good taste in his coach’s mouth due to his good batting percentage, making him a prospect for higher categories.

For his part, Osmar Arteaga, belonging to the Rancho Beisbolero school, in the state of Hidalgo, managed to be crowned champion in the category of 11 to 12 years old in the previous edition of the tournament. Now in the category of 13 to 14 years of age, the young player continued to show that he is a promise in national baseball, reaching the semifinals of the Mazatlán Baseball Tournament 2022.
