French women’s team: Grace Geyoro will be able to compete in the Euro despite her knee injury

Good news for the PSG captain. Midfielder Grace Geyoro, injured in a knee on Tuesday in training, will be unavailable for “ten days” but her presence at the Euro (July 6 to 31) is not compromised, AFP learned on Wednesday with the management of the French women’s team.

The medical staff is “optimistic” and wants to be “reassuring” vis-à-vis the player of Paris SG, victim of a lateral sprain of the left knee, and whose duration of unavailability is estimated at ten days, has it been reported.

She will miss the first preparation match

The player who will celebrate her 25th birthday at the end of next week is forced to withdraw for the friendly match on Saturday (9:10 p.m.) in Beauvais against Cameroon. It will perhaps be too fair for the second and final match of preparation for the Euro, on July 1 against Vietnam in Orleans. But “she will be with us at the Euro”, we said from the same source.

Les Bleues play their opening match of the first round against Italy on July 10 in Rotherham, England. The France team must send its list of 23 players, announced on May 30 by its coach Corinne Deacon, selected for the Euro before this Sunday, June 26 at the end of the evening.

Geyoro, a permanent midfield starter, left training on Tuesday morning in tears after injuring his left knee while stepping on the ball during an opposition. The Parisian had left the field limping.
